Show news items from a SharePoint site's built-in News web part as an auto-rotating carousel.

Creating a SharePoint News app

  1. Go to Content > New > App and search for the SharePoint News app.
  2. Click the app to start creating a new app.
  3. Enter an app name.
  4. Click Connect account and sign in with a Microsoft account that can read the SharePoint site. This creates a Microsoft connection in your workspace (reusable for other SharePoint and Teams apps).
  5. Pick the Site — only sites the connected account can read are available.
  6. Tweak rotation speed, item count, and styling.
  7. Click Create app.

Use SharePoint List News for custom lists

This app only reads the built-in SharePoint News web part. If your news lives in a custom list instead, use the SharePoint List News app and map the columns.
