# Start the Lumicast player on startup (Android)

First make sure you've [installed the Lumicast Signage Player](/player/installation/android) on your Android device.

## Enabling auto start

1. Open the Lumicast Signage Player app.
2. Press **OK/Enter** on your remote, or on a touch device swipe up anywhere on the screen. This opens the menu.
3. Select **Launch on boot** and enable it. It may ask for permission to **Draw over other apps** — grant it.
4. Select **Launch on boot** again — the red cross should become a green checkmark.

## Testing auto start

Reboot the device completely.

Using a Chromecast or similar? Pressing the power button only puts it to sleep, so turning it back on won't trigger the app's autostart. Instead, reboot via **Settings > System > Restart**.

The Lumicast player should launch once the device comes back on.

## The app didn't start automatically?
